General Practitioners

Life as a GP can be extremely demanding and that your working life leaves little time for financial planning. We have many years of experience working with GP’s and understand the complexity of your finances. Whether you are a salaried GP, a Locum or a Partner, we fully understand how to guide and advise you appropriately.

As a salaried GP, you need to be aware of the terms and conditions of your employment as not all practices offer the same sick pay, maternity and holiday benefits. We will help you to ensure that your personal financial planning dovetails with that offered by your employer.

As a Locum GP you have no guaranteed income or employee benefits and are very much on your own when it comes to generating income and then ensuring that you still have funds to pay the bills should you be unable to work as a result of illness or accident. Locum GP's are probably the most vulnerable group of doctors as you have nothing to fall back on. You need to ensure you have the right protection in place.

On becoming a GP partner your financial package from the NHS changes dramatically. As a partner you no longer have a basic salary and banding payments but have a practice agreement which entitles you to income based upon your share of profit.

All of our GP clients value having an adviser who not only advises them on their investments and personal financial planning but who has an in depth knowledge of their retirement planning needs. Take appropriate advice

The NHS pension scheme is the largest financial commitment that anyone working in the health service has and the benefits of this should be at the core of any financial planning they make.

We specialise in advising doctors on the current and future issues that will effect them, particularly around the latest pension legislation and the impact of changes to the NHS pension scheme. We provide advice on retirement planning exit strategies and many GP’s have avoided six figure tax charges as a result of making informed decisions at an early stage.

We are also involved in providing seminars on financial issues to groups on specialist trainee education programmes and are asked to provide talks to GP practices and Federations on NHS Pension and other financial issues.

We also have access to a number of Locum protection schemes and have saved practices several thousand pounds in annual premiums by reviewing their provision. We take into consideration the beneficial changes to Locum  reimbursement now provided by NHSE

Our experienced and professional planners can help you keep your finances on track. We are not salespeople who represent insurance companies promoting their products; we are specialist independent advisers who will source the right financial solution for you from the whole market.
